Sumaka is born in Kahramanmaraş to reveal the benefits of "sumac" fruit by tracing the most ideal methods, and preserving and introducing the ancient heritage of traditional recipes. In our design process, we aimed to symbolise the layers of the region's history and heritage by emphasising authenticity. We incorporated the sun symbol to emphasize the differentiation in our production technique, which is sun drying, also inspired by Shamash, the Assyrian god of the sun. The sun, symbolizing life and existence for all civilizations, has become the most important pillar in bringing life to Sumaka, turning the sumac fruit back to its essence.
